Royal Adelaide Show Competition – Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter

This competition is run by BIRST South Australia ("the Promoter"). It is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to Australian residents aged 18+ who are active members of BIRST South Australia.
  • Employees of the Promoter may enter but are not eligible to win the major prize.
  • By entering, participants confirm they meet all eligibility requirements.

3. How to Enter

To enter, participants must:

  1. Comment their name underneath the Royal Adelaide Show post on our Facebook page, Instagram profile, or LinkedIn Company Page.
  2. Entrants must use the name associated with their BIRST membership.
  3. Follow BIRST on the platform used to enter.
  4. Entries are limited to one per member.

4. Competition Period

Entries open at 10:00am ACST on Monday 10 August 2026 and close at 5:00pm ACST on Monday 31 August. No entries will be accepted outside this period.

5. Judging & Winner Selection

  • This is a game of chance; skill plays no part in determining the winner.
  • At the close of the competition, all eligible entries will be assigned a unique number. 3 individual winners will be selected using a random number generator, with the corresponding numbered entry declared the winner.

6. Prize

  • The winners will each receive a family pass to the 2026 Royal Adelaide Show valued at approximately $79.50. The passes give either 1 adult and 3 children, or 2 adults and 2 children entry into the 2026 Royal Adelaide Show, running from 5–13 September 2026.
  • The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, or delayed prizes.
  • All prizes must be picked up from 58A Greenhill Road Wayville during normal business hours.

7. Winner Announcement

  • The winner will be announced on BIRST's Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts on Tuesday 1 September 2026 and contacted via direct message.
  • The winner's name may be published on the promoter's social media.
  • If the winner does not respond within 7 days, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner as per clause 5.
  • Prizes not picked up within 30 days of announcement will be retained by the promoter.

8. Content & Permissions

By entering, participants:

  • Grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, repost, publish, and share their entry (including photos) on the Promoter's social media channels, website, and marketing materials.
  • Agree that their entry does not infringe copyright, trademarks, or the rights of any third party.

9. Privacy

Personal information submitted for this competition will be used solely for the purposes of administering the competition and will be handled in accordance with the Promoter's Privacy Policy available at https://www.birst.com.au/privacy.htm.

10. Meta Disclaimer

By participating, entrants agree to release Facebook and Instagram from any responsibility or liability associated with this competition.

11. Permit Disclaimer

This competition is a game of chance and skill plays no part in determining the winner.

12. Governing Law Clause

These terms are governed by laws of South Australia, Australia.

13. General

The Promoter reserves the right to:

  • Disqualify entries that do not comply with these terms
  • Remove or refuse to feature any inappropriate content
  • Cancel or amend the competition if unforeseen circumstances arise

Any updates or changes will be posted on the Promoter's social media accounts.
